To the left is a picture of a park that I kind of stumbled upon. It was a really clear day and you could see the mountains around the city, though I wasn't able to capture them on film...

Below is the "giant" chess board. I thought the pieces were going to be like life sized, but unfortunately, they are rather small. A friend noted that in Berlin something like this could never exist because the pieces would get stolen or vandalized. I think that's true in most American cities as well...

Below on the left is a Calvin school I believe. I thought I had found an amazing building that no one else knew about, but then I realized that I was basically in downtown Geneva and I found this building in a guidebook.
To the left is another photo of the chess boards.

To the left are some of the mountains around the city - sideways...

Though I do think that pictures of people in a certain place are better than simply landscape pictures, I think that people are probably interested in seeing sights from Geneva at this point. I haven't yet taken pictures of the foyer or my work, but that will come soon. In the meantime, here are some random Geneva images.

This is a building close to where I live that I thought was amazing. The architecture is so amazing here.

My first "published piece" is on the internet!: http://www.ishr.ch/About%20UN/Reports%20and%20Analysis/CHRWG/WGOPICESCR/WGOPICESCR-3rdSessionFI.pdf

This is a picture from my second day at work. One of the interns invited us over to her house for an Eid celebration - I don't know much about the holiday, except that it's Pakistani and there was excellent food. From the left are Nicola, Clea, me, Melissa, Eleni, Isha, Arzoo, Pauline, and Harini. All of us work at ISHR except Isha, who is Arzoo's sister.

My first post on my new blog! Very exciting. To the left is a picture from a couple weeks ago, perhaps a month of me and some friends. From the left: Harini, Pari, me, Pauline, Elodie, and Georg. Harini is a fellow intern at ISHR and lives in the same foyer as me, Pari is an intern from from the International Organization from Migration, Pauline is from ISHR as well, Elodie is doing an internship with an organization related to internally displaced persons, and Georg is with the International Commission of Jurists. Harini is from Canada (toronto), Pari is from India, Pauline and Elodie are from France, and Georg is from Austria. This picture was taken at a bar called Scandale in Geneva. It has a massive disco ball and funky decor.

The next couple posts will be pictures and explanations to catch up from the last month and a half.
